Sexual orientation must be respected

My name is Kim Sang Eun. A few days ago, I saw Hong suk chun on the television. He is a homosexual. He said that he had struggled with many problems since he recognized his own sexual identity. He had been afraid of society’s prejudice. He even counted Han River’s bridges everyday to commit suicide. When he came out, he was forbidden to appear on TV though he has no problem except homosexuality.
When I saw this program. I was so confused. Because I don't know why people hate homosexual. They don’t harm to us. Why do we have discriminated them until now? Why won’t we respect other’s life style? Isn’t it their own business?

P.S.  It's my mistype. I wanted to say word ' bridges' , not 'brides'.

  1. Hi Sang Eun,

This is a very thoughtful and well written blog. Very well done. Your title is great and clearly states your topic for your readers. Many people are not as open-minded and understanding as you are about this topic, but I share your thoughts. In Boston, where I'm from, there are many open-minded people, so many people there have no problem with homosexuality. In fact, my state was the first state to legalize gay marriage. However, in many places, many people are still discriminated against. The only reason I hear always has to do with religion. It is still a big controversy.

One thing: "brides"? or "bridges"? :)

p.s. You're doing a great job with the reading and Moodle!
